The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award

From the academic year 2021/2022, our school will participate in The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award. The programme is aimed at young people between 14 and 24 years old and is the main merit competition in the world. It helps students prepare for adult life and find their passions, their life goals, and their place in the world.

More than a million young people have participated since its launch 60 years ago, and it is currently present in more than 130 countries. The contest is a personal challenge, not a competition against others, and encourages its participants to get out of their usual environment and recognize their achievements.

As part of the contest, students must complete three sections: volunteering, skills and physical activity. They will also have to plan and carry out an adventure trip. During the course, different activities are organized so that students learn useful skills such as first aid or survival cooking.
