The 21/22 academic Year begins with a new academic director
– Alex Wreth joins the school following the retirement of Julia Plant, with the aim of launching the International Baccalaureate in English and reinforcing the school’s strategic position as the only international school in Navarra.
The new Headmaster is of British, German and Australian nationality. He holds a degree in Bilingual Education with English and German from the Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt (Germany) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from Cambridge University in the UK. He also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Performing Arts and since 2009 has been accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organisation (www.ibo.org) and is a Member of the School Inspection Committee for the International Baccalaureate. “It is a great pleasure for me to take up the position of Head of School as The British School of Navarra faces the next milestone in its growth: the introduction of the International Baccalaureate, a highly competitive programme, which will enable our students to achieve full fluency in the English language, a truly international perspective and access to the best universities in Spain and abroad," says the new Academic Director.
His professional career has spanned three continents: Europe, Asia (Japan) and Oceania (Australia). He has taught at internationally renowned schools such as Eton College, The British School of Tokyo, as well as Vienna International School and, recently, St Stephen’s School of Rome.
